In a study of 1,500 members of IllicitEncounters.com, 30% of those surveyed said that they broke up with their partners just one week before Valentine's Day. Harsh. What are the reasons for this unfortunate timing? Well, the significant majority (80%) simply stated that they no longer loved their partner, and felt too guilty to spend a day full of love and romance with them, knowing that they couldn't reciprocate those feelings. From this 80%, over half (57%) said that they feared receiving - or felt pressured into making - a proposal that they weren't ready for.
