At this stage, details are hazy to say the least. According to the Mirror report, there was allegedly a heated argument outside the nightspot involving Wilshere, and possibly even an assault.
But it seems moving the discussion into a nearby side-street (and Wilshere hiding behind bins) was to avoid a throng of on-lookers who had recognised the footballer whilst he spoke to police officers.
Police confirmed the following: "At 02:15hrs on Sunday, 3 April, police patrolling Coventry Street, W1, became aware of two groups of males involved in an altercation.
"Officers intervened and one man claimed he was assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue."
