Tommy Fury breaks down in tears after beating Jake Paul and dedicates victory to baby Bambi

'Everybody thought I was running scared but tonight I made my own legacy'

Tommy Fury broke down in tears after getting up off the mat to beat rival Jake Paul on points in a highly-anticipated grudge match in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night. Extending his unbeaten record to nine, the 23-year-old was victorious, but in a split decision. One judge scored the bout at the Diriyah Arena, in Diriyah, 75-74 to Jake, with the other two scoring it 76-73 to Tommy. Jake had knocked Tommy down in the eighth round. "For the past two years this is all that has consumed my life," an emotional Tommy said on BT Sport. "Everybody thought I was running scared but tonight I made my own legacy." After dedicating the fight to his new-born baby daughter, Bambi, Tommy added: "This is my first main event, I am going to get bigger and better and if he wants a rematch, bring it on." Jake was gracious in defeat, but did call for a rematch, saying: "All respect to Tommy, he won. I think we deserve that rematch. I don't know if I agree with the judges. I got a 10-8 round twice… I felt flat, I got sick really bad twice in this camp, injured my arm. But I lost, I'm not making excuses." Jake, who now has a loss to his unbeaten record, added:  " Don't judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. "I don't know if I agree with the judges, it is what it is but that is the boxing world." Despite taking him the win, Tommy cost his big-brother, Tyson Fury £100,000. The heavyweight champion had bet Tommy would stop Jake from going the distance, something he never did. Related links:
