Superbike star Victor Steeman’s mother dies from heart attack two days after son’s death

The mother of a superbike rider who died in a horror crash last weekend, aged just 22, has reportedly died from a heart attack just two days after her son's passing. Victor Steeman died after crashing at the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship Race 1 in Portugal. He was airlifted to Faro hospital with head injuries but passed away there with his family issuing an emotional statement, reading, "he could not win this last race", the Mirror reported. Steeman's mother, Flora van Limbeek, was said to be her son's biggest fan. She died on Thursday following a suspected heart attack at the age of 59. Racesport.nl reports that Flora passed away in the village of Lathum in Netherlands having suffered a cardiac arrest at home. The publication said she was unable to be resuscitated. The news comes as at the world of superbikes is still mourning the loss of Steeman and Chrissy Rouse, days earlier. Rouse passed away last week after suffering a serious head injury in a crash at Donington Speedway on October 2. He was 26. The Crowe Performance rider crashed on the final corner as he was completing the third race of the penultimate round. After being taken to hospital, Rouse underwent an emergency neurosurgery procedure, but his death was confirmed in a statement days later, on October 6.
