Sunderland have completed the signing of Bayern Munich defender Jan Kirchhoff in a deal that is thought to be around £750,000.
The 25-year-old, 6'5" centre-back has put pen to paper on an eighteen-month contract which will see him remain at the Stadium of Light until June 2017.

The defender revealed to German publication Kicker that three Bundesliga sides, Eintracht Frankfurt, VfB Stuttgart and FC Augsburg, were in for him, but he opted to sign for the Black Cats instead. "I had several options There were requests from the Bundesliga, but I didn't really consider them or to stay at Bayern.
