Now Fletcher's agent says that the Scot did not post the picture himself and put the blame on the company that sold the car to the £40,000-a-week forward.
“It wasn’t Steven that put the picture up, the company who were doing advertising on it done it," he said in a language close enough to English to be just about recognisable.
He then shrugged his shoulders and added, “I don’t know what the problem is and what people are getting excited about.”
Needless to say, Twitter was less than pleased with Fletcher's decision to spend his wages as he saw fit.
