Already this summer, we've seen conflicting reports about Real's interest in De Gea. However, if Perez's most recent words are anything to go by, it seems the Spanish number one will be staying put at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.
"We haven't spoken to De Gea," Perez told Onda Cero. "Two years ago we had an issue and then the appropriate circumstances didn't arise."
Perez also explained that despite their failed bid for De Gea in 2015, he, Zinedine Zidane and the club's players were firmly behind current first choice goalkeeper, Keylor Navas.
"The players are very fond of Keylor and also the coach. I like Keylor Navas."
