Quique Setién's bold plan paid off

Prior to the game, Real Betis manager Quique Setién insisted that his team would not water down their style of play for their clash with league leaders Barcelona. Junior Firpo opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute before the 37-year-old Joaquín doubled their lead in the 34th minute. Giovani Lo Celso, helped by an uncharacteristic mistake from Ter-Stegen, and Sergio Canales also got on the scoresheet, meaning that a brace from Messi and another from Arturo Vidal wasn't enough to earn Barcelona a point.
