De Gea has been in sensational form this season and continues to be heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. But Reina believes he should stay put.
The shiny-domed stopper, now plying his trade on the Bayern Munich bench, spoke to talkSPORT about his young compatriot's form and immediate future:
"He's one of the top goalkeepers in Europe that's for sure. Maybe [Real] Madrid are looking for a keeper and De Gea is one of the names [the media] are suggesting," he said.
"But I think he should be happy enough to play for Manchester United. That's my opinion."
United fans will be hoping that De Gea heeds these sage words and remains in picturesque Manchester.
