Pep Guardiola reportedly interested in bringing Jonny Evans to Manchester City

Could Jonny Evans be set to go down the line of Carlos Tevez, Owen Hargreaves and Andy Cole?

Not many players have represented both Manchester United and Manchester City but, according to reports, Pep Guardiola is eager to add Evans to that short list. The BBC report that early talks have already taken place between City and Evans' representatives but an agreement on a fee has yet to be agreed upon for the West Brom defender. Evans featured 198 times for the Red Devils before Tony Pulis convinced him to move to the Hawthorns on a four-year deal back in 2015. Having impressed for West Brom, Evans was announced as the club captain earlier this summer although he is thought to be in Guardiola's thoughts as the City boss aims to add another defender to his squad before the transfer window closes in two weeks. City are not the only club interested in the Northern Ireland international, as Leicester reportedly saw a £10 million approach for the player turned down by the Baggies earlier this summer. Vincent Kompany, John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi started for City during their 2-0 victory over Premier League newcomers Brighton in their opening fixture of the season and it's understood that Guardiola is eager to bolster his defensive options in the system he aims to employ during his sophomore season at the Etihad.
