Nate Diaz says rematch proves UFC think his win over Conor McGregor was an accident

They say you have to beat the best to be the best, but Nate Diaz doesn't feel like he's getting much respect for doing just that.

After taking on the challenge of Conor McGregor on short notice for UFC 196, Diaz shocked the MMA world when he submitted The Notorious in the second round. Now the pair are preparing to face off once more at UFC 200 this summer. But while most of us are excited at the prospect of seeing the two in the octagon again after their thrilling encounter on March 5, Diaz is somewhat less enthusiastic. Speaking to ESPN, the Stockton native called out the UFC for giving preferential treatment to the Irishman, saying that granting The Notorious a rematch at UFC 200 proves that the promotion think his second-round victory by submission was an accident. "I swear to God, the UFC thinks it was an accident or something," he said. "They think it was an accident, and now they're saying, 'Let's get Nate back in there and take him out before he gets any bigger.' "I don't think so. I've fought everyone in the UFC, and they better give me some motherf***ing compliments if I win this fight."
