A police investigation is reportedly underway after a fight broke out at a pub in South Tyneside on Sunday following abuse aimed at Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The Everton and England goalkeeper was with friends at the Beggar's Bridge pub at East Boldon when he was mocked for having 'little arms' by another group of people, as reported by The Sun. It is thought that Pickford's friends were 'furious' the goading and a fight broke out as a result - with one man left with a broken nose and another with a smashed phone after filming the incident. Police were called to the pub at around 9pm, however, the 27-year-old and his friends had already left the scene. The report states that Pickford was not involved in the incident, with a witness claiming that he had exited the pub before the incident occurred. A witness said: "He was getting goaded, like they do. All I heard was 'little arm' and then that's it. It kicked off. It happened as soon as they walked in.
