With the 2026 World Cup just months away, almost 90% of the national sides competing for global football's biggest honour have already been confirmed.
You may have heard all about Scott McTominay's heroics for Scotland, and how Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions pulled off the best qualification campaign in European history, but can you name all 40 of the other nations that have already guaranteed a chance to line up at next year's tournament?

Even now, more than 6 months before a ball has been kicked, we can say with certainty that the 2026 World Cup will make history.
That's because it's set to be the biggest ever — in terms of teams competing at least.
Where previously World Cup finals were played out between 32 national teams, the North American tournament will include 48.
This has created a huge opportunity for smaller nations, who wouldn't otherwise have a chance at playing at a World Cup to appear for the first time.
This week's international action has seen some truly inspirational stories as Caribbean minnows, as well as some of the UK's lesser populated home nations, have overcome near impossible odds to qualify.
