Gary Lineker seemed to drop another hint as to who will replace him as Match of the Day host during Saturday's programme.
The 62-year-old has presented the Premier League highlights show since 1999 when he took over from Des Lynam.
Since then, he has become one of the most recognisable faces in British television, presenting a number of programmes for the BBC, both sporting and non-sporting.
Although he has made it clear he has no immediate plans to step down from his MOTD presenting duties, there will be a time when he does eventually leave the show.
On Saturday night, Lineker was hosting as usual with Jermaine Jenas and Ashley Williams offering analysis of the day's games as pundits.
During the episode, Lineker seemed to let slip a hint about his future replacement.
While analysing one of the games, Jenas told Lineker that he "always likes getting a striker's opinion."
When Lineker joked "do you want my job?", Jenas responded "no, no, not yet," to which Linker simply said: "Later!"
Former Tottenham midfielder Jenas has previously been linked with the main job on Match of the Day.
Back in 2020, the Daily Mail reported that Jenas was being lined up as the BBC's new "face of football" when Lineker eventually steps aside.
The 40-year-old is no stranger to presenting shows, having fronted Match of the Day spin-off MOTDx before it was axed and often presenting the One Show on BBC One.
And back in August, Lineker himself admitted that his BBC colleague is "probably drifting towards my role" as his "time is nearly up."
