Raheem Sterling misses easiest chance of the season against Burnley

Raheem Sterling is having the most prolific season of his career at Manchester City this term thanks to the huge number of chances City create for their front three. Despite his 19 goals this season, he is still prone to missing the odd sitter. His shooting technique has never been great and this miss reminded us of that. Most of City's chances come from overlapping runs followed by cut backs into the area for a forward to tap home and this one was no different. Kyle Walker made a lung-busting run down the right flank and Kevin de Bruyne found him with the type of perfectly weighted pass we've come to expect from the Belgian. Walker then crossed the ball along the ground in the six yard box, where Sterling was waiting at the back post to make it 2-0. Somehow, he missed. Walker begins to make his run. The weight of the pass is perfect and Walker puts it on a plate for Sterling. Thank you very mu-OH SHIT. It was harder to miss but he managed it. The miss will haunt his dreams for the next few days. Sterling was visibly livid with himself, having spoken on Sky Sports in the build up to this game about the importance of taking more of his chances. He was promptly substituted for Brahim Diaz.
