Harry Kane to hand Denmark captain gift for Eriksen before semi-final

The two sides will unite in support for Eriksen before kick off.

England captain Harry Kane will present an England shirt with Christian Eriksen's name on the back to their captain before the two sides face-off in their Euro 2020 semi final on Wednesday evening. Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch during his Denmark side's opening group stage fixture against Finland on June 12. He received CPR on the pitch, and has since been fitted with a cardioverter defibrillator. He is now recovering at home after having been treated in hospital. The Daily Mail reports that, in a show of support for the Denmark star, Kane will hand Denmark captain Simon Kjaer an England shirt with Eriksen's name on before kick off on Wednesday. Wales did the same gesture before they faced the Danes in the last 16 of the tournament. Kane and Eriksen had been teammates at Tottenham for several seasons, and said that he has been in touch with the Danish midfielder during his recovery. The striker told talkSPORT: "I spoke to him after what happened to him and wished him well. He sent me a quick message back to say he's okay.

"I kind of left him alone. It's been an emotional rollercoaster for not just him but his family as well.

"I'm sure he'll be cheering against me on Wednesday, and rightly so. He will back his country all the way.

"We know that it has united Denmark as a team and pushed them to be where they are now. We can't focus too much on that. We have to focus on ourselves and what we can do.

"Whatever happens, I hope to see to Chris soon and be in contact with him soon. The most important thing is he's well."

England and Denmark take each other on in the semi final at Wembley, with the winner facing Italy in the final on Sunday. England reached the semi final after beating Ukraine 4-0, whilst Denmark were 2-1 victors against the Czech Republic in their quarter final.
