While it's common practice for football fans to tune in to a TV station to discover their team's opponents for the next round of any cup competition, the powers behind Welsh football have decided to try something very different for next week's league cup draw.
Rather than making use of a bag or hat full of numbered balls as is custom, the semi-final draw for the Nathaniel MG Cup Semi-Final will be decided via the results of a high-stakes Go-Kart race, featuring high-profile ex-professional footballers.
Next Monday (10 November), Welsh viewers will tune in to local channel RedWall+ to see how former Welsh national team stars Joe Ledley, Danny Gabbidon, Andy Legg and Scott Young fare on four wheels.
Each driver will randomly select one of the four semi-finalists to represent in the race — Barry Town United, Cambrian United, Llandudno or The New Saints — before setting off.
When the racing event is all concluded, the club chosen by the driver who comes in first place will be assigned ball number one, then second-place will get ball two, and so on.
Once each club has been assigned a number from the results of the race, the draw will commence as usual, with the numbered balls pulled out of a hat at random.
While the new-look draw has brought the Welsh league cup a lot of extra attention, not everyone is pleased.
In response to a social media post announcing the draw, one fan wrote: "Game's gone," while another added "Man, I hate this time-line."
