Conor McGregor donates €10,000 to help young boy in need of medical help

When he's hyping a fight, McGregor has a tendency to say some divisive things in a bid to make the bout as interesting as possible to potential pay-per-view buyers. But behind closed doors, McGregor has a great heart and he proved that again by going above and beyond with a generous donation for a young Irish boy in need of medical help. Bru McCullough suffered sepsis last year and is unable to walk or eat. In desperate need of help to get her son private care after finding it difficult to get the assistance required from Ireland's Health Service Executive, Gráinne McCullough set up a GoFundMe page. https://twitter.com/GrainneMcCullou/status/1045246765354627073 Gráinne reached out to several people for donations and it didn't take long for McGregor to respond. Despite being just a week out from the biggest fight of his life, 'The Notorious' found the time to single-handedly meet the goal of €10,000. At the time of writing, the figure is close to hitting €14,000 and while McGregor's name initially showed up on his donation, he seemingly logged back in to change it to an anonymous contribution which speaks volumes about his character. It's not the first time that McGregor has shown a charitable side as he donated €50,000 to help Ireland's homelessness crisis two years ago and was honoured in New York earlier this week for his work on behalf of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. McGregor will fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC lightweight title in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 6.
