Beglin has apologised for his slip of the tongue

Jim Beglin has apologised after he accidentally called Manchester City's Etihad Stadium the 'Emptyhad' during Saturday's match with Chelsea. Pep Guardiola's men welcomed the Blues to the Etihad knowing that a win would move them 13 points clear of Thomas Tuchel's side at the top of the Premier League table. While City dominated much of the first period, neither team was able to break the deadlock as Chelsea missed a glorious opportunity when Romelu Lukaku failed to pull the trigger, instead opting to pass to Hakim Ziyech - who was offside. However, one of the most entertaining parts of the first-half came from the commentary gantry with an accidental slip of the tongue from commentator Beglin. "You can hear the annoyance around the Emptyhad because..." he said, before quickly realising his mistake. Both clubs were without key players due to the Africa Cup of Nations, with Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and City winger Riyad Mahrez representing Senegal and Algeria respectively. City scored the game's only goal in the 70th minute when Kevin De Bruyne found a way through Chelsea's defence and unleashed a stunning strike into the bottom corner. Related links:
