Anthony Joshua open to fighting on the undercard of Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather

As if the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather card needed any more drawing power...

Anthony Joshua has requested a slot on the undercard of what will presumably go down as the most watched combat sports event of all time, presuming that McGregor vs. Mayweather ends up coming to fruition. The fight, McGregor's first as a professional boxer, would be guaranteed to smash gate revenue and pay-per-view buy rate figures and would be a spectacle like nothing ever seen before. And Joshua wants in. After reports of a signed contract on McGregor's end, Mayweather was in London in his capacity as promoter for IBF junior lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis, who stopped Liam Walsh in devastating fashion on Saturday night. Joshua crossed paths with 'Money' during his stay in the UK and it was during that meeting that 'AJ' announced his eagerness to fight on the undercard of what would be the biggest fight of the century. "Get me on the undercard!" Joshua laughed before responding to a question more seriously. "Why not? That's big. It's big. That's legendary shit. Last week Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn revealed the ideal next three fights for the London 2012 gold medallist and, if all goes to plan, Joshua will fight Wladimir Klitschko, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury in that order. The Klitschko rematch will likely be Joshua's only remaining bout in 2017 and, if he's to fight on the McGregor vs. Mayweather undercard, that will be the only opportunity as that cross-sport clash is expected to take place before the year is out, if it takes place at all.
