Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s undercover prank might not have been the best idea

If Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is to realise his unquestionable potential then he's going to have to begin doing so soon.

The 24-year-old would have hoped that the move from Arsenal to Liverpool in the summer would have represented something of a fresh start but Chamberlain has struggled for opportunities on Merseyside. Chamberlain has received only two starting chances for the Reds in the Premier League and he has revealed that he's found certain aspects of the switch difficult.

"It’s been all about learning a new style of play, new demands from a different manager," Chamberlain recently told the club's official website. "But overall I’m feeling really settled in now.

"Moving up north, you take for granted how tough it can be to play and train everyday whilst you’re living in a hotel and trying to find a house as well! Little things like that. Everyone at the club helped me massively with that."

The £35 million midfielder has yet to properly endear himself to the Anfield faithful and that became clear for all to see when he was involved in a prank at Liverpool's club store. https://twitter.com/mbna/status/934081813319909376 Chamberlain, along with fellow recent signings Andrew Robertson and Dominic Solanke, dressed up in disguise in a bid to fool supporters but the gag will almost certainly have left Chamberlain nursing a bruised ego. After encouraging a young fan to buy a shirt with his name on the back, Chamberlain insisted that he was "going to be a superstar." The supporter unknowingly trolled Chamberlain, however, when he responded with a withering: "We've been saying that for ten years." Ouch...
