Hello all. This week, I'm simply going to remind you all to double-check everything you google, whether this is for a passionate debate with a mate at the pub, or for a key point in an essay you're writing.
Those of you who played last week's quiz will have seen that I declared the city of Lincoln to have a population of 750,000, and therefore a bigger population than all of Luxembourg.
In my quizzing research I had simply googled 'population of Lincoln', and was given the figure 756,920. Of course, that was in fact the population of the county of Lincolnshire, not just the city, which has a population closer to 100,000.
Poor form.
If you fell victim to this error last week, then apologies. Hopefully you managed to come to some peaceful solution when totting up scores for leagues/group chat competition.
And to the people of Lincoln, fear not, your population has not boomed to the size of Newcastle's.
But never say never.
Rounds on Europe and band logos await you this week. Enjoy them.
