According to a number of reports, Donald Trump's so-called 'doomsday plane' made a surprising journey yesterday night sparking fear into many.
The plane, a Boeing E-4B, allegedly took off on a four-hour flight from Bossier City before landing at Joint Base Andrews, following an irregular flight path.
The aircraft is designed to serve as a command post for the president and top military officials in the event of a catastrophic event or a nuclear war.
The US Air Force say: "In case of national emergency or destruction of ground command and control centers, the aircraft provides a highly survivable command, control and communications center to direct U.S. forces, execute emergency war orders, and coordinate actions by civil authorities."
No official statement has yet been given on why the aircraft was in the air, however some believe the mission may be linked to increased presidential security amid rising fears of nuclear escalation in the Middle East.
Just yesterday, after days of back-to-back fighting between Israel and Iran, the President of the US took to Truth Social writing: "We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran.
"Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff.’ Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”
He then posted: “We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
There have also been unconfirmed reports that Russia's equivalent of the doomsday plane was also moving yesterday.
