Two people have died after a plane crashed into a bus in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.
The tragic incident took place at around 7.20am local time on the Avenida Marques de Sao Vicente in Barra Funda, sparking a huge fire.
The small King Air F90 aircraft was attempting an emergency landing just five minutes after taking off from Campo de Marte Airport.
Images from the scene showed a bus on fire in the aftermath.
A fire department spokesperson confirmed two bodies were found in the wreckage of the aircraft.
CNN Brasil reports that two more people - a motorcyclist and a woman who was on the bus - were injured after they were struck by debris. They were taken to hospital for treatment.
Four other people suffered minor injuries, and the rest of the passengers on the bus managed to escape safely.
The control tower at Campo de Marte had lost contact with the aircraft just minutes after it took off on its flight towards the city of Porto Alegre, according to reports.
According to a witness, the plane hit a tree before petrol stared gushing out.
Engineer João Lucas da Silva Amaral said: “It hit the tree, hit the sign and started dumping kerosene.
“When it hit the ground, it exploded and we ran.”
Personal trainer Adriano Rolim told Globo television: “The pilot tried to land on Marques de São Vicente, and fortunately many cars swerved, but the plane hit the back of the bus and ended up exploding. The impact was huge, very scary.”
