A woman has suffered life-changing injuries after being stabbed at the A&E department where she was working.
The victim, a woman believed to be a nurse in her 50s, was attacked at the Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester.
The woman is being treated at the same hospital.
Sky News report that the woman was injured with a bladed article which was not a knife.
A 37-year-old man is in custody after being arrested at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Craig Roters said: "This is a serious incident which has left a woman in critical condition."
