Beach goers have been left completely flummoxed after discovering a humongous object on the Australian coast.
The otherworldly cylindrical object was discovered on Green Head Beach in Western Australia and has already fuelled dozens of conspiracy theories about its origin.
The most plausible theories about the origins of the object alleged that it was 'space junk'.
Now this has been confirmed as the case with officials saying it is likely the remains of an Indian rocket.
Space junk is described as being any piece of machinery or debris left by humans in space.
It can refer to big objects as satellites which have either failed or are at the end of their mission, or tiny little flecks of paint that have fallen off a rocket.
Officials from the Australian Space Agency explained that the object is 'most likely' debris from an 'expended third-stage of a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle'.
The medium-lift launch vehicle is operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation.
Officials are now working together to provide even further confirmation.
A local resident by the name of Garth Griffiths said that a neighbour first alerted him to the object two weeks ago.
He explained: "A local lady and her partner discovered it just floating on the edge of the water and dragged it out with their four-wheel drive. There were barnacles and marine life growing on it."
This isn't the first time strange space junk has crash landed in Australia either.
Just last year, debris from Elon Musk's SpaceX craft crashed into a field in New South Wales.
