Massive row erupts as man appears to refuse splitting £3500 birthday dinner bill with friends

'I'm not paying for this baby girl!'

An age-old social quandary, the splitting of the bill can cause plenty of issues. Whether it's one diner not drinking, some people going for starter whilst others just have a main, or one mate treating themselves to a whopping great big steak that costs about twice as much as everything else on the menu, it can sometimes rub people up the wrong when it's suggested that the bill is split equally.

But usually, us awkward Brits will just suck it up and pay, maybe chucking in a sly dig or passive aggressive comment to make everyone know we're not happy with the decision.

A big part of the issue seemed to be that the birthday girl in question wasn't going to pay for anything, which her female friends seemed happy with but some of the guys not so much.

As they objected and pointed out some of the expensive items that others had ordered, one of her mates shouted: "We came together to split the bill, period!"

The birthday girl said: "Like it's my f**king birthday, why the f**k should I have to pay for something on my birthday?"

One of the guys hit back: "Y'all doing way too much.

"We didn't order all that. I'm not paying for this baby girl."

In response, another man who was in the birthday girl's camp, challenged him: "What's the point in getting food if you can't pay for it?!"

As you may expect, the clip sparked a lot of debate in the comments.

One wrote: "People who believe in 'split the bill' be the broke ones. How Tf you order filet mignon and rib eye steak with $4."

Another commented: "The arguing is so unnecessary I would just ask for the bill for what I ate, and then I would walk out - anything else [is] none of my business."

Someone else made the point that perhaps they should have established how the bill would be paid before the meal, writing: "Y'all should have straightened that out beforehand."

Hindsight's a fine thing.

And one commenter said: "You messed up getting a $4,600 bill. Almost 5k for food? Be so f**king dumbass."

Meanwhile, others though the whole scene felt quite staged, with one person writing: "This is fake as hell."

Another said: "This is bad acting,"

And someone else commented: "THE SCRIPT IS HORRIBLE."
