Homer to continue strangling Bart even though ‘times have changed’, says Simpsons creator

After reports emerged earlier this month saying that Homer was going to stop choking out his son, fans were absolutely devastated, but now Simpson's co-creator, James L. Brooks, has claimed they won't go ahead with the decision.

The reports stemmed from an episode of the Simpsons in Season 35 when Evergreen Terrace welcomes a new family to the neighbourhood and when Homer introduces himself, the new neighbour congratulates Homer on such a firm handshake.

Homer responds: "See Marge, strangling the boy paid off. Just kidding, I don't do that anymore."

Speaking after this dialogue sparked rumours that things had changed, James L. Brooks said: "Don't think for a second we're changing anything."

He added to People: “Simpsons: No more strangling. Homer is also seen with a text bubble above him yelling “Why you little clickbaiting-!! Nothing's getting tamed. Nothing, nothing, nothing.

“He'll continue to be strangled—[if] you want to use that awful term for it. He'll continue to be loved by his father in a specific way.”

So there you have it folks.
