Simpsons creator opens talks over a new Netflix series

The Simpsons might not be close to the quality of its peak years, but class is permanent.

That's why we're still excited that creator Matt Groening is reportedly in talks over a brand new animated show. The unnamed project is poised to get a two-season run on Netflix, according to Variety, but it is currently unclear how far along Groening is in his discussions with the streaming service. Specific details regarding the show's content are also being kept under wraps. Groening's first side-project since The Simpsons - sci-fi animation Futurama - started strongly before fading towards the end of its original run. If we can get the same amount of early quality from the new Netflix series, it could be well worth the wait.
