John Cena is joining the cast of ‘Fast & Furious 9’, says Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel confirmed Cena will be starring in the movie in an Instagram video

John Cena will star in the upcoming Fast & Furious 9, as confirmed by a post Vin Diesel made on social media. In an Instagram video posted to Diesel’s account - in which he is dressed in-character as Dominic Torreto - the series lead discusses Paul Walker - or "Pablo - and talks about the need to keep the long-running franchise moving forward. John Cena then makes an appearance at the end of the clip, winking to the camera. “All love, always,” Diesel ends the vid. The spin-off is out later this year with a trailer released ahead of it showing: Homer Simpsons' boxing entrance music, The Rock pointing out that he's already saved the world three times in F&F continuity, Idris Elba with a flamethrower and The Rock swinging a dead bad guy off a building and smashing a lift while mouthing "Fuck off" to Jason Statham. The official synopsis for the Hobbs & Shaw film reads: "Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America's Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. "But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves." It sounds awesome and will make a nice build up to the next film in the Fast franchise.
