The most annoying thing on social media is about to be killed off

There are so many things on Facebook that p*ss us off.

The attention-seeking statuses, the endless duck face selfies, people sharing the most agonisingly boring minutiae of their dull existences, yer ma commenting on every damn thing you post. It all makes our very sh*t itch with annoyance. But there's one thing above all that makes us want to throw our phones and laptops under a passing bus. The b*astard game request notifications. You know the ones - Candy Crush f**king Saga. And the rest. Do these people have nothing better to do? Go outside. Read a book. Have sex. Anything. But if you have to play these damn games, leave us well out of it. If you're in a permanent state of rage over people sending you these requests - you're not alone. Mark Zuckerberg is flooded with requests to end this madness - and now it seems like he's listening, according to the Mail.

"I seriously don't want to get any more invitations for Candy Crush, how can I stop getting them?" one guy said during a Townhall Q&A at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. the 1,000 strong audience cheered the question.

Zuckerberg said his team was already working on a solution and they have now found one.

"There are some tools that are outdated that allow people to send invitations to people who have never used a game in the past, and don't play games on Facebook.

'But we hadn't prioritised shutting that down because we had other priorities, but if this is the top thing that people care about then we'll prioritise that and we'll do it."

If you literally cannot wait for this solution, then you can click on 'Notifications' and go to 'Settings' where you can edit and turn off notifications in the 'App requests and activity' section.
