What is important - and I use that term extremely loosely - is that Manchester United have again been linked to a player whose name has popped up in the gossip columns more times than those ruddy taxis what'll always exist. From the time of Sir Alex, through the Moyes era, and on through Van Gaal's tenure, the name of Ezequiel Garay has echoed through eternity (nine-ish years) as a potential recruit to the Old Trafford numbers. Alas, a move to Manchester has never transpired.
Now, in an age of comebacks that has seen the original lineup of Bananarama announce a reunion tour (full details here), Garay is once again rumoured to be turning heads in the red half of Manchester. That's right, according to Valencia-based newspaper Super Deporte, Jose Mourinho is one of a number of managers looking to 'swoop' for the Argentine defender before the transfer window SLAMS shut. Maybe the should start using 'Death, taxis/taxes and Garay'!
There's two possible scenarios here. Either Mourinho, who has openly stated that he will use three at the back and two wing-backs on occasions this season, has identified the technically gifted Valencia stopper as the perfect option to bring the ball out from the back in the middle of the five. OR, Garay's agent always tends to throw Manchester United's good name into any negotiations because it helps to hype up his client and make him seem incredibly in-demand.
What's the truth? Who's to know? But always remember, if anyone uses 'death, taxis/taxes and Garay', you heard it here first, and legal action may follow.Football
