Since arriving in the US, Wayne Rooney has played a key role in turning DC United's season around

The Major League Soccer side were bottom of the table when Wayne Rooney joined them from Everton in June, but moved into the play-off positions for the first time with a 1-0 victory at home to Dallas on Saturday. Rooney has found the net nine times since his transfer to MLS, including a brace in their last outing against Chicago Fire. "I could've played another 90 minutes and not scored tonight," he admitted after the game. DC United's next game sees them welcome Toronto FC to Audi Field on Thursday. After that, they host New York City FC  on Sunday.
