Tim Sherwood doesn’t think Jack Grealish will make the England squad for Euro 2016

Tim Sherwood thinks Jack Grealish's allegiance to England is good for the country, but doesn't expect the player to go to France next summer.

The Aston Villa manager has given his take on Grealish declaring for England, though he's most interested in seeing the 20-year-old start performing again after some indication that he was genuinely struggling with the decision between Ireland and his country of birth. "Hopefully Jack has cleared his mind now," Sherwood told AVTV. "We're looking for some improved performances from him now on the pitch so those international managers choose to pick him." But, while Timmy reckons Grealish's decision to declare for England is a good thing for his country, he thinks Euro 16 might come too soon for the youngster to make his mark on the squad. "It's good news for England. Obviously," the Villa boss said. "He's got a lot of competition there so he needs to make sure that he is playing well for Aston Villa - and we're sure he will. "He has loads of potential - and that's what it is at the moment. He needs to start fulfilling that potential. He needs to improve every season that goes by. "That will mean he might get picked by England and becomes an international but I think this championship might be a little bit too soon for him."
