New research has revealed the highest-rated football stadiums in Europe, with three British stadiums making it into the top ten rankings.
The
study - conducted by
money.co.uk - analysed stadium reviews across several review platforms to reveal the best, and worst, reviewed football stadiums in Europe, as well as the UK.
Taking into account the TripAdvisor review score, the Google review score and the Football Ground Map review score, the study then calculated an average review score to rank the stadiums.
Top 10 best-reviewed football stadiums in Europe:
Rank 1: Westfalenstadion (Borussia Dortmund, Germany)

Westfalenstadion, home to Borussia Dortmund in Germany, comes in first place in the rankings. The Westfalenstadion (Signul Iduna Park) is one of the most recognisable stadiums in European football, and is home to the 'yellow wall' of noise made by Dortmund fans.

Opened in April 2019, but has unfortunately not seen any trophies yet (sorry Spurs fans). However, it is a multi-purpose stadium and features the world's first dividing, retractable football pitch, which reveals a synthetic turf field underneath for NFL London Games, though.

The Stadion Narodowy boasts a retractable roof and is located in Warsaw, Poland. It is used mostly for concerts and football matches and is the home stadium of Poland national football team. Completed in 2011, it is the largest association football arena in Poland with a capacity of 58,580.

Another stadium with a retractable roof. Opened in 2011, it hosts the home matches of the Romania national football team, as well as - usually - the Romanian Cup Final. It's the home ground of FCSB and also hosted 'The International 2021', the annual world championship for the video game

The Camp Nou is an incredibly famous stadium, and is high on the list for many groundhoppers. It is the largest stadium in Europe and the fourth largest football stadium in the world in capacity - which is 99,354. Costing a whopping €1.73billion to build, Barcelona have had the privilege of playing there since its completion in 1957.

With seating capacity of 81,044, it is the second largest stadium in Spain - behind Catalan giants Barcelona. Named after former Real Madrid president Santiago Bernabéu, it is the first (and only) stadium to host the two most important premier continental cup finals (UEFA Champions League and Copa Libertadores).

Located in Cardiff, the Millennium Stadium is the home of the Wales national rugby union team and has also held Wales national football matches. The ground - initially built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup - holds 73,931 for sports games and hosted matches during the 2012 Summer Olympics. Gareth Bale loves it here.

The smallest stadium in the rankings, and by some margin, too. Redeveloped in 2009 and then expanded in 2013, with some of the work carried out by over 2,300 Union Berlin supporters. It has a capacity of 22,012 - 3,617 of which are seated, while the rest of the ground is terracing. Often hosts the "Weihnachtssingen" (Christmas Carols Event) as well.

With a capacity of 90,000, Wembley is the largest stadium in the UK and the second-largest stadium in Europe. As a UEFA category four stadium, it hosted the 2011 and 2013 UEFA Champions League Finals, as well as eight games at UEFA Euro 2020 (including the final and the semi-finals). The £798 million stadium will also stage the 2024 UEFA Champions League Final.

One of the newest stadiums in this list, opened just three years ago in 2019. With a seating capacity of 68,456 after renovation, the Wanda Metropolitano hosted the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final in June 2019. It was also the first 100% LED stadium in the world, but is behind it's La Liga rivals with a lower average review score.
The worst-reviewed football stadium in Europe:
Stadio Carlo Castellani (Empoli, Italy)
On the opposite end of the scale, the worst-reviewed major stadium in Europe is Stadio Carlo Castellani, home to Empoli. The average score was brought down by a poor 1.9 out of 5 on Football Ground Map, meanwhile, it had low scores of 3 on TripAdvisor, and 3.8 on Google.
