Giggs has been backed by many to be the next United manager and took charge of four Premier League games when David Moyes was sacked towards the end of the 2013/14 season.
But the recent talk of Carlo Ancelotti succeeding Van Gaal in the Old Trafford hot-seat could lead Giggs down a different path, which is something that the Swans could take advantage of.
Cardiff-born Giggs is a Welsh legend, having earned 64 caps and scored 12 goals for his country, so would undoubtedly be welcomed by the Liberty Stadium faithful.
