A Premier League club must sell players before July 1 to avoid potential ramifications.
Reported on Tuesday morning, the club need to raise a figure of around £6million to avoid a potential breach of Financial Fair Play rules.
Recently promoted, Hull City are the Premier League new boys, with owner Acun Ilicali clarifying the current situation the club are in.
Only last summer, the Tigers were placed under a fee-paying transfer embargo, having to rely on free transfers and loans.
Despite this hardship, the club fought against the odds under Sergej Jakirovic, with top scorer Oliver McBurnie notching 18 goals.
Then making the play-offs in 6th-place, the Tigers went one further and achieved promotion back to the big time, courtesy of a last gasp McBurnie goal against Middlesbrough at Wembley.
Now though, they have to sell players to raise funds, although they are confident they won't have to sell their stars.
"We have overspent, and we have to sell some players by July 1," Ilicali said, speaking to the Yorkshire Post.
"I don't say that it will be very easy or very hard.
"Now we are a Premier League team, the values [of players] has raised up, which is a good advantage. We have some players that know they will not be able to play with us.
"Now we will work on that and solve this problem. It's a new task, and we will manage it. I'm not afraid. We have managed harder things. For us, this is more manageable."
