Pochettino is set to pocket a £12.8million payoff

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly 'demanding' an additional £1.7million (€2m) on top of his payoff package in order to leave Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine, who is contracted until 2023, is expected to be dismissed by the Ligue 1 champions in the coming weeks, and it is thought that he will receive a £12.8million (€15m) payoff. However, as reported by L'Equipe, there is still a disagreement over an additional £1.7million (€2m), which the former Tottenham Hotspur boss believes he is entitled to. The report adds that the disagreement centres on bonuses that apply to the upcoming season, with performance-based incentives included in the 50-year-old's original contract. Galtier expected to take PSG reigns

Former Nice boss Christophe Galtier - who guided Lille to their Ligue 1 title triumph in 2021 - is set to take over from Pochettino at the Parc des Princes. Pochettino is expected to depart soon, however, the Parisians are reportedly concerned that the delay they are facing in finalising his departure will continue into their pre-season preparations.

However, the French club's disappointing exit from the Champions League in the Round of 16 against Real Madrid - where they threw away a 2-0 aggregate lead - led to intense backlash from fans. He was booed by large sections of the PSG crowd when his name was read out ahead of kick-off at a Ligue 1 match, which came after the club's fans protested prior to the Parisians' clash with Rennes in which they slammed the 'overpaid mercenaries' and criticised the club's staff.
