This week on your favourite horse racing podcast, The Paddock, we’re joined by Rishi Persad, Oli Bell and jockey great Mick Fitzgerald.
The panel dive into Mick's Grand National memories including winning it, ending up in a nightclub the night before and THAT famous quote.
There's an emotional tribute to his father as well as harrowing discussion on the horror fall that ended his career.
All this and plenty more besides on this week's instalment of The Paddock.
Of course, no episode of The Paddock would be complete without Paddock Picks - where we show you the guests top tips for this weekend's racing, so let's waste no more time and dive straight in.
Newcastle - Saturday - 15.00pm - Pick: Tyrrhenian Sea (Rishi Persad)
Musselburgh - Sunday - 15.42pm - Pick: Jer Batt (Oli Bell)
"I'm gonna go first in the Scottish Sprint Cup, which is the 3:42 at Musselburgh, a horse that needs a bit of luck in running, but he's talented, and that's Jer Batt for David and Nicola Barron. He likes Musselburgh. He's always targeted at the similar races to this, so Jer Batt, he'll, he'll hopefully be a bit of a price. I think he'll go very well at Musselburgh."
"I am going for the best looking horse, cause you know I'm a very, very shallow person. The best looking horse to race this week will be Tyrrhenian Sea. Oh yeah. He's run at Newcastle 3 times in his life, he's won twice. The only time he's been beaten was, when he finished 3rd behind the Foxes in Dubai honour. That's not bad form, and he's going back to this race. It's the first time he's running in a handicap in 2.5 years, and I think he's gonna go very close to winning it."
