Perhaps picking up on this, SportBild, over in Ozil's native Germany have claimed that the playmaker would relish the opportunity to move back to the Bernabeu, three years on from leaving the Spanish capital. As well as that, they also reckon a move to Bayern Munich could be an option if he decides not to extend his deal in London.

The idea of Ozil being allowed to leave the club is a terrifying one. After the lack of big money signings so far this summer, the angry outpouring that this might prompt from Arsenal fans might actually trigger the apocalypse.
