Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher spent some of their Saturday afternoon trading jibes on Twitter after Carragher made reference to Neville's silence on the Glazer family during his time as a Manchester United player.
It began innocently enough, with Neville tweeting that he was on his way to Brentford, where he will be covering United's first away game of the season for Sky on Saturday evening.
Having asked for predictions from his followers, Carragher quickly responded by quote-tweeting him.
'I'm thinking you will call for the Glazers to sell the club, after not saying it once while they paid you,' Carragher replied. Oof.

Neville was straight back at him, first pointing out that he and his United teammates were too busy winning league titles at the time...

...then by suggesting Carragher's comments on not condemning his club's owners were a little bit hypocritical.

Carragher fired back again, claiming Sir Alex Ferguson was the only reason for United's success and that should another top drawer manager be appointed at Old Trafford, protests against the Glazers will die down again. He also claimed Neville still received money from United as an ambassador.

He then followed up by having a dig at Neville's record of dismissing managers as co-owner of Salford City.

Neville denied the claim he still gets money from the club, saying that hadn't been the case for 11 years.

We're willing to put this down to being a bit of friendly banter, even if one or two of the comments did seem to stray a little bit beyond that.
