Stewart has only managed 18 minutes of top flight football for Liverpool, but the club's former U23s boss Michael Beale is adamant he can make the step up to regular performer. He said: "I was adamant he shouldn’t go anywhere until we had put him in front of the manager. It took a little bit of time while. We put him in front of Brendan [Rodgers] and he liked him but he wasn’t ready. "We put him again in front of Jurgen and if the Exeter game [in the FA Cup] doesn’t happen then Kev Stewart doesn’t appear."
