Tyson Fury claims he was misquoted over homophobic comments (Listen)

Oliver Holt may be having a word with his lawyers.

The Mail on Sunday chief sports writer interviewed the new heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury last month ahead of his fight with Wladimir Klitschko, in which the Manchester man shared some pretty shocking views on homophobia, paedophilia and abortion. On Tuesday morning on Irish radio station RTÉ, Fury accused Holt and the Mail on Sunday of "misquotes". "It's newspapers trying to sell papers on writing bad things about me. I don't have any hate for anybody, I'm not homophobic, I'm not racist. I'm not against any people. All I have for people is love. What people do is none of my business." In Holt's interview Fury was quoted as listing "three things that need to be accomplished before the devil comes home".

"One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other is paedophilia. Who would have thought in the 50s and 60s that those first two would be legalised?

"When I say paedophiles could be made legal, it sounds crazy. But if I had said to you about the first two being made legal in the 50s, I would have been looked upon as a crazy man."
