Leicester City are in talks to appoint a former Premier League player, and ex-EFL manager, to take over as head coach.
Following relegation to the Championship at the end of last season, the Foxes are in serious danger of relegation to League One, a situation that was exacerbated by a six-point deduction they were handed down — by the Premier League for a PSR breach —earlier this month.
Leicester are now in 22nd spot, within the Championship relegation zone, albeit having played two fewer matches than 21st Portsmouth.
Considering how dire the Foxes' current situation now is, club hierarchy have now opened discussions with a manager who has a track record of helping clubs survive the drop.

According to The Telegraph, Leicester are in advanced talks with Gary Rowett, over an initial short-term contract until the end of the season.
As well as playing for the likes of Birmingham, Derby, Charlton, and Leicester during his playing days, Rowett has a wealth of experience as an EFL manager.
Rowett most recently guided Oxford City away from relegation last season, so has all the credentials to save the Foxes from a drop down to the English third-tier.
It now remains to be seen if a deal can be struck between the former Birmingham City, Millwall, and Stoke City head coach, and the Foxes in time for their next Championship fixture.
