The Opta supercomputer has updated its prediction for the 2025/26 Premier League title race, after Arsenal's agonising 2-1 away defeat to challengers Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
Just weeks ago, the Gunners had appeared to have one hand already on their first title in 22 years, as they were nine points clear at the top, and looked in no possibility of slowing down.
Successive losses to Bournemouth and Man City have cut that lead to just three points, and Pep Guardiola's chasers can now usurp Arsenal at the top if they win convincingly against Burnley in midweek.
Where in March, statistics experts Opta, as well as much of the footballing world, had rated Mikel Arteta's side as almost certain to finish the job, this is no longer the case.
With now five games to go, it is pretty much anyones guess as to who will finish first
After full-time, almost all of Sky Sports' Super Sunday punditry panel said they favoured City over the Gunners, except Roy Keane, who added: "I don't care"
While the Sky pundits and commentators may have been convinced by Guardiola's side's excellent Sunday showing, Opta have yet to overturn their overall prediction.

Although Man City's chances of securing another title, have jumped forward plenty, the latest prediction only gives them a 26.96% chance of winning, and Arsenal (73.4%) are still the most likely champions.
In the relegation battle, things have been shaken up considerably this morning, with Spurs — still winless since the start of the year — given a 56.58% chance of being relegated this season, with rivals West Ham now just 38.47% likely to face the drop.
As with all predictions, while based on the latest stats available, all final positions will be decided on the pitch over the final five gameweeks of the Premier League season.
