Khabib Nurmagomedov finally releases statement following UFC 209 withdrawal

After the initial devastating news, Khabib Nurmgomedov has given everyone a positive update.

Fight fans were sent into despair on Friday when it was announced that arguably the most intriguing title fight in lightweight history had been scrapped in the 11th hour. Grappling master Nurmagomedov was set to enter in with a pristine 24-0 record, while free-form jazz fighter Tony Ferguson was riding a nine-fight win-streak. Both warriors in the prime of their fighting career and have reached the summit of the most-populated division, but have such contrasting styles. Ferguson successfully made weight and was ready to fight, but 'the Eagle' was taken to hospital to receive treatment for weight management medical issues.
