Redknapp told Sky Sports that he reckons that Martial is ahead of Wayne Rooney when the club's skipper first came to Old Trafford and, in fact, he is so good that he knows of only one player at his stage of his career who was better.

"I watched Anthony Martial for 90 minutes in the Champions League and the only 19-year-old I've seen better at that age was Lionel Messi.
