Austria and Denmark's players were left shocked after the pitch caved in during their UEFA Nations League's clash at the Ernst Happel Stadion on Monday night. The game was initially delayed for 90 minutes because of a blackout, with fans using the lights on their phones to help see through the darkness as the floodlights bizarrely went out. Given the lack of light, kick-off was pushed back until 10:15 pm local time, with the match not finishing until after midnight. When the Nations League encounter eventually got underway, Denmark secured a 2-1 victory over Ralf Rangnick's side - inflicting a first defeat on them since the former Manchester United interim manager took charge. The pitch appeared to cave in on itself

While the game passed by with no major issues, it wasn't until the referee had blown for full-time that yet another issue showed itself. The pitch appeared to cave in with a huge sinkhole developing right near the centre circle. The players quickly alerted the officials, but, thankfully, the game had already finished and no one was injured as a result of the hole.
