Harry Redknapp has claimed that Carlo Ancelotti was offered the Liverpool job before Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd be happy to be second choice at anything.

But he was just that in the mind of John Henry if Harry Redknapp's latest comments are to be believed. Klopp was unveiled as Liverpool manager last Friday but former Spurs and QPR manager Redknapp has claimed that the German was not the Reds' first choice. "I have heard from good sources that he [Ancelotti] was offered the Liverpool job,” Redknapp told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT. "I don’t think [he wanted it]. They spoke to him at some stage." Whether it's true or not, Liverpool fans will probably be pretty happy with the way that things have worked out.
