Gareth Southgate has spoken out on his future prospects for the first time since resigning from England.
After guiding the Three Lions to two consecutive Euros finals, his tenure was deemed largely a success.
Now, he has addressed the media for the first time regarding his future and the consistent links to the Manchester United job.
Speaking at the ECA general assembly, Southgate stated:
"I won't coach in the next year, for sure. I'm certain of that.
"I need to give myself time to make good decisions. When you come out of a really big role you need to give your body time, you need to give your mind time."
This comes during a week in which speculation regarding Erik ten Hag's future has been addressed.
INEOS and the Manchester United board held a meeting in London on Tuesday and the common consensus is now that the United gaffer will be given more time to turn his fortunes around.
